Two more file in city, school elections

by Dolores Hamilton
Two more candidates have filed this week in the city and school elections, one for the city council and one for the school board.
In the school board election, a race has developed with Dustin Hostas filing for Place 4 to challenge Scot Davis who filed last week. Incumbent Merle Rodgers has not indicated if he will run for re-election. Incumbent Ken Cooper filed last week to retain his position on Place 5.
In the city council election, Ray Schultz is running to retain his position as mayor, and incumbent Lori Shierry filed this week to keep her position on Place 4. At press time no one had filed for Place 2 currently held by Stephanie Wooten.
Filing for a place on the city council may be done at city hall from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Filing for the school board may be done at the school administration building from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Filing in both elections will continue through February 19.
