Play Ball! Youth baseball season
to open with parade Friday
Iowa Park Youth Baseball Association players will hit the field Saturday for the 2018 Opening Day, following a parade in downtown Iowa Park on Friday evening.
The annual Youth Baseball parade will kick off at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, with floats following the same route as the IPHS Homecoming Parade, starting on East Cash Street and moving west. This year, teams will be decked out in camo gear as they “Hunt for the Win,” this year’s theme for the parade and the season.
“Join us and wear your camo and hunting gear to show support for our players and teams,” said association spokesperson Stephanie Cummings.
Opening Day will kick off Saturday at 9 a.m. In the spirit of “Hunt for a Win,” Texas Game Warden Richard Key will throw out the first pitch following team introductions.
Concessions will be available all day, starting at 8:30 in the morning with donuts, coffee and hot chocolate.
During the day, there will be hot dogs, pickles, cotton candy and popcorn available in addition to sodas, water, and power drinks.

Field 2 - Little Sluggers vs Braves
Field 3 - Lil’ Minions vs Hawks
