One day to dump trash for free!
Vouchers needed to dump at landfill April 27
(04/18/13)

Iowa Park residents who want to take advantage of free dumping of trash at the landfill on Saturday, April 27, need to have a voucher.

Vouchers may be picked up at city hall, next Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pickups and pickups with a trailer may be used to haul the debris, but no commercial vehicles. There is a limit of one ton of debris per citizen, but tires, batteries or liquid waste (paint, etc.) will not be accepted. The loads should be tarped or tied down so debris is not lost on the way to the landfill.

The landfill, Progressive Waste Solutions of TX (formerly IESI) on Smith Rd., will be open that day from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The city is seeking volunteers to pick up trash on that day in public areas.

Anyone who wants to participate should contact city hall at 592-2131.

Workers will be treated to free hot dogs and soft drinks.
