ParkFest, car show and cruise Saturday

A full day of activities and entertainment will be held in Iowa Park Saturday starting with the Chamber of Commerce’s Annual ParkFest to be held from 9 a.m. till 2 p.m. at Lake Gordon.
A car show will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in conjunction with Parkfest.
A 10-year anniversary celebration will be held at the Hawk Swimming Pool and Spray Park, followed by the annual cruise and burn-out.
The car show, sponsored by Flat Line, is being organized by Michael Rodiguez of Flatline Car Club. All proceeds from the car show will benefit The Big Project which provides school supplies for Iowa Park students in need.

Car Show
A car show will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in conjunction with Parkfest.
Entry fee is $20 and trophies will be given for first and second places in each of the 15 classes.
All registration will be the day of the show.
Entries will be judged at noon and awards will be presented at 1:30 p.m.
Classes include: Bikes, Import, Mopar, Hot Rod, Rat Rod, Street Rod, Trucks, Special Interest, Low Rider, Dodge, Ford, Chevrolet, Jeep, Under Construction, and Ven Corvette.

Swimming Pool Celebration
At 3 p.m. a cake cutting and short ceremony will be held to celebrate the Iowa Park Municipal Hawk Haven Pool and Spray Park’s 10th Anniversary.
The pool will be open for free swimming, cake, hot dogs, and lemonaide from 3 till 8 p.m.
Saturday evening, following Parkfest, the seventh annual Tailgates and Tailights Cruise sponsored by O’Reilly Auto Parts will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
The event will include live entertainment and food trucks, as well as a burn-out.
Cruise registration will be held at 806 North Third, Optimist Club Gym parking lot, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Cost is $10 per car and includes a dash plaque; or $25 per car and includes a dash plaque and t-shirt.
Early registration at city hall until 5 p.m. Friday. Cost will be $20 and will include dash plaque and t-shirt.
Live Entertainment
Bands will be performing from 6 to 11 p.m. and they will be set Sup in the field south of the swimming pool.
Food Trucks
McKinney BBQ, Red River Hot Dogs, and Mijo’s Mexican Food will set up after Parkfest in the field south of the swimming pool.
A burn-out will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the 800 block of North Fourth Street. Line-up will be on Texas and Third Streets.
