Voigt, Helton named to All-State Softball Team
Senior IPHS player Baylee Voigt and junior Peyton Helton were recently named to the 2012-13 Softball All-State Team for 3A, in recent voting by the Texas Girls Coaches Association during their annual meeting.
The two were nominated by their coach, Ricky Ledford.
Voigt and Helton join fellow District 5-3A players Paige Daino and Kylee Trahan from Burkburnett on the all-state list.
Of other interest, Kaylee Parker and Kaitlyn Slack of Liberty made the list, as did Kaitlyn Leeds of Kennedale.
Parker is a junior, and Slack a freshman.
Leeds is a junior.
Iowa Park defeated Liberty Hill in the regional quarterfinals, with Liberty Hill ranked second in the state at the time.
After Helton was injured in the first game of a best-of-three series against Kennedale, the Lady Hawks bowed out to the ‘Kats. Burkburnett defeated Kennedale in a one-game playoff to advance to state, where they lost in the semifinals.
