Fireworks display at Gordon Lake Sunday night

An afternoon of Independence Day activities is planned for Sunday, July 3, to be wrapped up with a fireworks display over Gordon Lake, sponsored by Bobby Bounds Excavation.
The first annual “Pay it Forward” Pig Pen Volleyball Tournament will kickoff at 1 p.m.
At 5 p.m. “Lakeview Liberty Fest” with family activities sponsored by Lakeview Church of God will kickoff.
There will be free bounce houses, water slides, and games for kids and a concession stand selling drinks hot dogs, funnel cake, and more in the church fellowship hall.
Live music featuring patriotic and Christian songs provided by the Lakeview Worship Team will begin at 8 p.m. and will go right up until the fireworks.
The 15 minute fireworks show will be ignited in sync with Country Christian music to be broadcast through large speakers as well on 94.9 The OutLaw, a Wichita Falls radio station.
The volleyball playoff games will immediately follow the regular games.
The winning team will earn $840, $420 donated by Widwest Waste, to go to the charity of their choice.
Iowa Park Volunteer Fire Department will be available to spray the muddy players off.
People are encouraged to take their lawn chairs, canopies, and even a small wading pool the fire department will fill, and spend the day supporting the teams as they play for their charity.

Four married couples - Notorious D.I.G. for ALS/Cancer; City of Iowa Park employees - Bad Mudders, Hospice Christmas Tree; Faith Baptist Church - Youth of Faith, Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child; Faith Baptist Church - Youth at Heart, Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child; Lakeview Church of God - Lakeview Setting Ducks, Friendly Door Senior Citizen’s Center; Lakeview Church of God - Lakeview Mission UnBlockable, Friendly Door Senior Citizens Center; Iowa Park Optimist Club - Block you Like a Hurricane, Optimist Club/Friendly Door; Three married couples - Knee Deep, American Cancer Society; Friends and Family - Mud Dawgs, American Kidney Foundation; High school kids - Dirty Half Dozen, Tom Burnett Library; Iowa Park Volunteer Fire Department - Brown Floaters, Kids Christmas; Billy Price - Can You Dig It, CASA/Patsy’s House; Tom Burnett Memorial Library - Mud Dobbers, library; Iowa Park Police Department - Spikological Warfare, Iowa Park Animal Shelter.
