City council to hold public hearing
A public hearing to consider a proposal to increase total tax revenues from properties on the certified tax rolls is scheduled during the city council meeting to be held Monday night. The council will also schedule a date and time of the public meeting to adopt the tax rate.

A second public hearing is on the agenda to receive public input to the adoption of a small wind energy systems ordinance. Other items on the agenda include:

Request by the Noon and Evening Lions Clubs to use the city’s Division of Economic Development conference room to hold a community-wide blood drive in conjunction with Whoop-T-Do;

Consider a negotiated resolution between Atmos Cities Steering Committee and Atmos Energy Corporation regarding the company’s rate review mechanism filing in all cities exercising original jurisdiction; declaring existing rates to be unreasonable; adopting tariffs that reflect rate adjustments consistent with the negotiated settlement and finding the rates to be set by the attached tariffs to be just and reasonable; approving Atmos’ proof of revenues; and adopting a savings clause;

Consider joining the National League of Cities and participating in their “America’s Promise-The Alliance for Youth” program;

Discuss state law concerning the use of golf carts upon public right-of-way and possible restrictions to use;

Consider opting out of the increase of the gas franchise fee;

Consider approving alternate mail-out date of the 2008 city property tax statements; and,

Consider a request from Gordon Griffith for the city to continue paying utilities for Griffith Field, reportedly for use by Wichita Falls Northwest football teams.
