Whoop-T-Do kicks off Saturday morning

Iowa Park Chamber of Commerce’s annual Homecoming Whoop-T-Do will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, downtown Iowa Park.
Whoop-T-Do vendors include:
Food and Drinks

Iowa Park Noon Lions Club - Sausage-on-a-stick, hot dogs, Coca-Cola products, Dr. Pepper products, and water.
First Assembly of God - Funnel cakes.

Iowa Park Choir Boosters - Lollipops.

Whoop-T-Do will start at a turtle’s pace at 8:30 a.m. with the Turtle Trot race.
The turtles will make their way down a four lane 12-foot track. The fastest turtle in each of the four age groups will receive a cash prize.
The age groups include: four and under; five to seven years-old; eight to 12 years-old; and 13 year-old and older.
Participants in the turtle race may want to dress their turtle’s shell up for the “Design A Shell” contest. The best decorated shell will earn a prize. To participate in the “Design A Shell” contest, you must participate in the turtle race.
The decoration rules for the Design A Shell contest are: Contestants must specify they want to participate in the design contest at the time of registry. 2. Age brackets will be the same as the race. 3. Contestants will be judged on creativity and appearance of design. 4. Awards will be given for top competitors. 5. Designs must be on the shell only. 6. No decorations can be harmful to the turtle.
Also, Turtle Trot t-shirts will be available for $10 each.
Following the turtle trot the Iowa Park Hawk Band will start the entertainment and vendors will open their booths at 9 a.m. The event will conclude at 2 p.m., in plenty of time for visitors and vendors to rest-up before the Hawk football game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls.
