Participants in the turtle race may want to dress their turtle’s shell up for the “Design A Shell” contest. The best decorated shell will earn a prize. To participate in the “Design A Shell” contest, you must participate in the turtle race.

The decoration rules for the Design A Shell contest are: Contestants must specify they want to participate in the design contest at the time of registry. 2. Age brackets will be the same as the race. 3. Contestants will be judged on creativity and appearance of design. 4. Awards will be given for top competitors. 5. Designs must be on the shell only. 6. No decorations can be harmful to the turtle.

Also, Turtle Trot t-shirts will be available for $10 each.

Following the turtle trot the Iowa Park Hawk Band will start the entertainment and vendors will open their booths at 9 a.m. The event will conclude at 2 p.m., in plenty of time for visitors and vendors to rest-up before the Hawk football game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls.
