Carla Darlene Skinner, 68, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, in Wichita Falls.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday at the chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home with Mr. Bill Lockwood officiating.
Interment followed in Crestview Memorial Park.
Darlene was born on Oct. 9, 1949 in Wichita Falls, to the late Carl Darrold Wyatt and Melba Joyce Bellows. She married James Skinner on Aug. 26, 1967. After her children got older, she and James ran their own auto repair business from 1976 until 1986. In 1990 she became employed at Nortex Regional Planning Commission coordinating law enforcement training for an 11-county area. She also served as a reserve deputy for the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office for several years. She retired in 2004, after a debilitating car accident. After the accident she stayed home and enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. She was an active member of the Iowa Park Church of Christ and enjoyed her church family, her sewing group, and women’s bible study group.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Murdick.
Survivors include her husband James Skinner; daughter, Ginger Gilmore; son, Jeff Skinner; two sisters, Karen Robinson and Jan Tigrett; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations to Iowa Park Church of Christ, 300 E. Park, Iowa Park, TX 76367 or to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd., 76301.
