W. D. “Dean” Jackson, 86, passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, in Pasadena.
Funeral services were held Monday at Highland Cemetery Pavilion, with Rev. Don Pellikan Methodist minister, officiating. Interment was under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.
Dean was born March 6, 1929, in Coleman, to Robert and Lois (Green) Jackson and was raised in Iowa Park. He graduated from W.F. George High School and then moved to Pasadena, in 1949 to work for Mathieson Chemical Corporation. During his two years in the U.S. Army, he was stationed at Fort Hood and served with the 2nd Armored Division in Germany. He married Betty Jo Hatten in 1953. He worked as a supervisor at Mobil Oil Company and retired in 1985. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Pasadena, for 60 years, and he enjoyed serving with the Levites, volunteering as an usher, driving the church bus, helping to build log cabin, and many other ministries.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, LaCreta Samuelson; and his twin brother, Gene Jackson.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty Jackson; a daughter, Deanna LaFargue; a son, Jim Jackson; six grandchildren; and twin great grandsons.
