Norien (Mickie) Paschal Willis Carter
1934 - 2018

Norien (Mickie) Paschal Willis Carter, 83, passed away Tuesday Jan. 2, 2018.

Funeral Services were held Saturday at Faith Baptist Church, with graveside services following at Highland Cemetery, under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carter was born April 27th, 1934, in Campbellsville, Kentucky to Oliver Paschal and Sarah Willis. She began her education in Campbellsville before moving to Texas and completing high school at Wichita Falls High in 1952. She married Billy Joe Carter on March 26, 1953. She was a long time member of Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park and was active in the Senior Fellowship there. She and her husband, Billy Joe, were volunteers with the Friendly Door of Iowa Park and participated in the Meals on Wheels program for those in need. She was an avid painter, enjoyed trying new cooking recipes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe; a daughter, Joni Lynn Peden; her parents; and her sister, Jessie Lee Willis Kump.

Survivors include her son Marcus B. Carter of Nogal, NM; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Palbearers were Shawn Browning, Jeremy Erskine, Brandon Robbins, and Curt Robbins.

Honorary Pallbearers were Billy Glen Whitis and Larry Robbins.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made in her honor to Meals on Wheels or The Friendly Door Senior Center.
