Bobby Jon Christmas
1935 - 2009

Bobby Jon Christmas, 73, of McGehee died Tuesday at his home.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Friday, at the McGehee First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Terry Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Rash Cemetery at Cominto, AR under the direction of Griffin Funeral Service of McGehee.

Visitation will be this evening at Griffin Funeral Service from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Mr. Christmas was born September 15, 1935 in Montrose, AR to the late Lewis Matthew Christmas and Emma Taylor Christmas. He was born and raised in and around Dermott, AR graduating from Dermott High School in 1953. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the US Air Force of 20 years, a 32 degree Mason, a retired Southern Baptist Minister of 37 years, and a member of the Allendale Baptist Church of Witchita Falls.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Pellham Christmas; and one sister Betty Butler.

Survivors include his wife Lenn Chatham Carr Christmas of McGehee; five sons, Joel Christmas of Iowa Park, Steven Christmas of League City, Michael Christmas of Carlyle IL., Bart Christmas of Houston, and Tommy(Jeff) Carr of Springfield, MO.; two daughters, Tommy Lenn Stapleton of Shreveport, LA, Christy Ward of Monticello, AR.; two brothers, Tom Christmas of Bellaire, AR. and Stephen Christmas of Charleston, SC.; eighteen grandchildren; and one great-grand daughter.

The family suggests, in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice or the Gidieons.
