Earle Pearl Brooks Hopkins

Earle Pearl Brooks Hopkins, 96, of Iowa Park, died Saturday, January 10, 2009.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2009, in the sanctuary of Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park with the Rev. Ted Spear, pastor of Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park, officiating. Interment will follow at Rosemont Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A daughter of the late Wesley Phillip and Jenny Pearl (Owens) Brooks, she was born April 4, 1912, in Kaufman County, Texas. On May 31, 1935, she married John Nathan Hopkins. He preceded her in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Nathan Eugene Hopkins in 1944 and Phillip Wayne Hopkins in 1979. She was an active member of Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park and a member of the Naomi Sunday School Class. She loved gardening, was an excellent seamstress and a true joy to everyone that knew her.

Survivors include her son, John Lynn Hopkins and wife, Janie of Wichita falls; granddaughters, Julie Ann Russell and husband, Jimmy of Argyle; and Jenna La Rue Hopkins and fiancé Jason Hobbs of Wichita Falls; two great-grandchildren, Brady John Russell and Ashlyn Ann Russell; also, several nieces and nephews.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Paul Arrington, Dan Fears, Thomas Cowart and Allen Shewmake.

For those desiring, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to building funds of Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park or to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2009, at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
