Collis John Ikey
1937 - 2014

MSgt. Collis John Ikey, 76, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, in Iowa Park.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Hare, Pastor, Pacific Avenue Baptist Church, officiating.

Graveside services with full military honors will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.

Ikey was born on Oct. 30, 1937 in Worcester, MA., to Stewart and Rita (McCarthy) Ikey. He enlisted in the Army as a Combat Engineer and served in the Korean War with the 13th Combat Engineer Battalion, 7th Infantry Division. He later transferred to the Air Force and served in Vietnam, Okinawa, Thailand, and Taiwan. He and Patricia Jackson, met while he was stationed at McConnell AFB, Wichita, KS. They were married in Aug. of 1963. He retired from the Air Force and worked at Cryovac as a supervisor, retiring again in 1993.

He also was a volunteer with the Wichita County Humane Society.

Survivors include his wife of Iowa Park; five children, Lorie Johnson of Fort Worth; Timothy Ikey of United Arab Emirates; Dee Dee Hart of Fort Worth; Jack Ikey of North Richland Hills, and James Ikey of Mansfield. 23 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

The family suggest memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls; and to Pacific Avenue Baptist Church in Iowa Park.
