Gladys Marie Knowles

Gladys Marie Knowles, 82, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Services were held Friday at the Ryan Church of Christ, in Ryan, OK.

Mrs. Knowles was born March 12, 1925, in Jones County, to Dee and Elma Hager. She moved to Clay County as a teenager, and worked as a waitress. She and Arthur J. Knowles were married Oct. 6, 1946. They made their home in Oscar, OK., where they farmed until moving to Ryan where they opened and operated the Dairy Lane for 27 years. She was an active member of the Ryan Church of Christ and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, after 60 years of marriage; a daughter, Sandy Long; five brothers; and two sons.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Suitt of Iowa Park, and Lonna Smith of Duncan, OK.; a sister, Dorothy Powers of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family suggest memorials be made to the Ryan Church of Christ, Ryan Booster Club, or North Texas Rehab Center.
