Melvin (Sonny) Lonzo Harper

Melvin Lonzo Harper, 65, of Colony, OK., died Saturday Jan. 14, in Lawton, OK.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Hydro, OK.
Interment was held at Poage Cemetery in Colony, OK.

Sonny was born June 26, 1946 in Antlers, OK to George and Edna (Hise) Harper. He attended school and graduated from Sickles High School in 1964. He worked as a bulldozer operator in the oilfield until his retirement in 1988.
He was preceeded in death by his parents.

Survivors include one daughter Kari Snowden of Iowa Park; two brothers Leon Harper of Arapahoe, OK, and Wendell Harper of Weatherford, OK.; three sisters, Sue Kidd of Colony, OK, Wanda Smith of Mt. View, OK, and Mary Adams of Pauls Valley, OK; and one grandson.

The family suggest memorials be made to Boy Scout Troop 73 of Iowa Park, of which his grandson is a member or the the Hydro Church of Christ.
