Leonard “Jug” F. Davis, Jr.
1932 - 2016

Leonard “Jug” F. Davis, Jr., 83, passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, in Wichita Falls.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Neal officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jug was born on June 16, 1932, in Electra, to Leonard “Jack” F. Davis, Sr. and Annabelle (Copeland) Davis. He graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1949.

He was a veteran, serving from 1951 to 1953, receiving service medals from China, Korea, and the United Nations. He married Mary Madeline Waddell on Sept. 27, 1985, in Dallas. He worked as a machinist and for the US Postal Service for 27 years. His hobbies included football, baseball, softball and being in the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Elroy Boutwell; two sons, Mike Waddell and Rodney Davis; and grandson Wade Davis.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Madeline Davis of Iowa Park; a daughter, Vonda Davis of Graham; three sons, Leonard “Bubba” Davis of Angel Fire, N. M., Kevin Davis of Los Angeles, CA., and James “Jake” Davis of Wichita Falls; granddaughter who was raised by Jug, Stephanie Waddell-Amaya of Wichita Falls; sisters, Betty Wilson of Amarillo and Mary Ann Ezell of Lakeside City; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Iowa Park Volunteer Fire Department and to the Iowa Park Masonic Lodge.
