Dianne Webb

Virginia Dianne Webb was born in Abilene, TX on February 13, 1950. Her first name was in honor of her maternal grandmother but she was always known as Dianne. She died of renal cell carcinoma, kidney cancer, at her brother’s home in Bedford, TX on January 15, 2009. Her mother, Jean Hilty Beasley, preceded her in death. She is survived by her father, Austin Webb of Jacksboro, five brothers, Greg (Sharon) of Bedford, TX, Steve (Lisa) of McPherson, KS, Johnny and Jett of Archer City and Chet of Waco, TX. She is also survived by two sisters, Josie Webb of Archer City and Melanie Brown (Roger) of Clyde, TX, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She also leaves many close friends who will miss her, too.

Dianne graduated from Iowa Park High School, Iowa Park, TX in 1968. She graduated from Ohio Valley College, a two-year college, in 1971 and received her undergraduate degree from Harding College, Searcy, AR. While at Harding College, she was recognized as outstanding athlete in girl’s intramural sports. Dianne participated in sports all during her school years.

Dianne had a varied and interesting work history. At one time, she was a supervisor and builder for a mobile home company; she co-owned and operated a custom leather shop; was Room Supervisor and Rehabilitation Technician at Denton State School, and most recently was a Medical Assistant. She was proficient at every task she attempted and frequently designed, built and implemented adaptive tools to suit the work requirements. She supervised teams and received peer-to-peer recognition for her achievements.

Dianne’s first love was the outdoors, fishing, hunting and her beloved animals. Horseback riding was a favorite pastime. She took in stray dogs and raised goats. In the past eight years she was seldom without her Yorkie, Dillion, or golden lab, Ripley. She especially loved living in the country where she could relax with friends, both furry and human.

A Memorial Service for Dianne will be held Saturday, January 24th, 12:30pm, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034, 817-498-5894. Some of her ashes will be scattered in her favorite places; her urn will be buried in the Webb family cemetery at Bluegrove, TX. In lieu of flowers, Dianne and the family ask that donations be made in her name to Covenant Hospice & Palliative Care, 3221 Collinsworth, Ste 160, Ft. Worth, TX 76107.
