Richard Edward Denny, 79, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, in Wichita Falls.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at Highland Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Jack Jordan officiating. Services are entrusted to Dutton Funeral Home.

Richard was born Feb. 6, 1933, in Holliday to the late Lester R. and Era Carter Denny. He served in the US Army and has been a self employed truck driver for several years.

His was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jewel; and five siblings, Lester M. Denny, Johnny Joe Denny, Henry Dexter Denny, Era Mae Rosdhal and Carrolyn Barfield.

Survivors include a daughter, Jane Ellen Scott of Georgetown; three siblings, Ella Jane Hart of Wichita Falls, Marrie Hanson of Ringgold, and Joyce Mehrman of Fostoria, Ohio; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
