James L. Short
1949 - 2017
James L. Short, 67, died of natural causes at home Saturday, Jan. 21.
Memorial services were held Wednesday at Faith Baptist Church with Dennis Neal officiating. Interment followed at the Highland Cemetery.
A motorcycle procession to Faith Baptist Church was held from Red River Harley-Davidson.
Jim was born May 31, 1949, in Wichita Falls, and was a lifelong area resident. In his early adulthood, he worked for Waylon Jennings as his road manager. After spending time on the road in the music industry, he returned to north Texas where he worked in television and radio broadcasting for many years was a local business owner. Most recently, he retired from Red River Harley-Davidson where he worked as a member of the sales team for several years. He was an avid motorcyclist.
He is preceded in death by parents, Lowell and Jeanette Short of Iowa Park; and brother, Robert Short.
Survivors include his sister, Suzy Powell of Oklahoma; a son, Troy Short of Iowa Park; three daughters, Julie Dietrichson, of Iowa Park, Emily Copeland of Midland, and Sunshine Beer of Boise, Idaho; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
