Orville V. Forson
1934 - 2013

Orville V. Forson, 78, died Monday, Jan. 28, in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, in the Chapel of Dutton Funeral Home, with Rev. Harvey McMurry officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Dutton Funeral Home.

Orville was born March 27, 1934 near Valley View to Robert and Opal (Turner) Forson. He attended Valley View schools where he was active in football, track and tennis, graduating in 1952. He served in the US Army and was stationed in El Paso, Michigan and Germany from 1956 –1958 before being discharged due to an injury. He worked for more than 40 years in the oilfields of Texas for various companies, including Halliburton and his own company, Forson Oil Well Services, in Wichita Falls and Bowie.

He enjoyed pulling a prank, going fishing, football, playing board games, cards and dominoes, good food and was always on the lookout for a great bargain.
In his retirement years, he enjoyed being a vendor at the Bowie 2nd Monday Trade Days.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Robert Darrell.
Survivors include his five children, Stephanie Arnold of Gun Barrel City, Robert Forson of Plano, Lori Mayfield of Springtown, Jeff Forson of Bowie, and Jodi Forson of Houston; a brother, Irvin “Jack” Onstead of Iowa Park, two sisters, Nettie Whisenhunt of Oklahoma City, and Bernice Todd of Iowa Park; and five grandchildren.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
