Jimmy Alfred Holdbrook, 70, of Iowa Park, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Pastor James L. Harmon, officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Jimmy was born on November 14, 1944 in Salinas, California to Alfred Carroll “Hank” and Alice Odell (Bawcum) Holdbrook. He served our country proudly in the United States Army and later worked at SAFB in vehicle maintenance and as an aircraft painter. He enjoyed working on cars and drag racing. If he wasn’t in his shop working on classic cars, you could find him every Saturday night at the drag strip. He also enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee and breakfast at the Café in Iowa Park and sometimes staying long enough to order lunch. Jimmy was a loving man who loved everyone including Mike, Scott, and Tracy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hank Holdbrook; his brother-in-law, Jackie Ashlock; and his sister-in-law, Janey Holdbrook.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Koonce and husband Shawn of Fruitvale; his mother, Alice Holdbrook of Wichita Falls; his grandson, Garet Mullins of Fruitvale; two sisters, Pat Land of Cibolo, and Carol Ashlock of Wichita Falls; two brothers, Richard Holdbrook of Burkburnett, and Jackie Holdbrook and wife Jackie of Wichita Falls; his dear friend, Gerald Kingcade of Iowa Park; his two schnauzer’s, Harley and Selena; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends who loved him dearly.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
