Lida Mae Browning
1934 - 2015

Lida Mae Browning, 81, of Iowa Park passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10.

Funeral services were held Friday in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Gibson officiating. Graveside services followed at Highland Cemetery.

Lida was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Gross on Jan. 13, 1934, in Bee Springs, KY. She married Willie Browning on March 15, 1952 in Bee Springs. In 1959, they moved to Iowa Park. She worked several places but lastly, at the Iowa Park High School where she was known as “Grandma.” She worked until she was forced to retire due to health reasons.

She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Lavina “Kay” Calvin; and three great grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Lannie of Iowa Park; and Eddie of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Bessie of Louisville, KY., and Wiledean of Evansville, IN.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls in Lida Browning’s name.
