Susan Marie Harper Ralston

Susan Marie (Harper) Ralston, of Nocona, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, surrounded by family, following a stroke early that morning.
Susan was born March 3, 1958, in Wichita, Kansas, to Robert O. and Linda Ann Harper, and the family moved to Wichita County, Texas, her mother’s birthplace, when she was three years old.

Susan and Terry “TR” Ralston met while they both worked for the City of Iowa Park, Texas, and it was love at first sight. They were married September 12, 1980, and first made their home in Iowa Park before moving to Wichita Falls, Texas, where they lived the majority of their married life. They moved to Nocona in 2006, following Susan’s retirement from Cryovac, in Iowa Park, where she was greatly admired for her extensive knowledge and impeccable work ethic, and dearly loved for her kind spirit, sweet smile and very distinct laugh.

Not being ones to sit still in retirement, and continuing on the way they met, Susan and TR both went to work for the City of Nocona immediately after moving there. As she did wherever she went, Susan endeared herself to all who met her, and made numerous lifelong friends in Nocona, who were already preparing to miss her, as she and TR had made plans to retire again and return to Iowa Park later this year.

Susan was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Ann Harper and her brother-in-law, Terry Henry.

Susan is survived by her husband Terry; her father, Robert O. (Bob) Harper; sister, Carol Henry; brother, Robert Harper; sister, Cindy Wade and her husband, Stephen; brother, James Harper and his wife, Susan; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members who dearly loved Susan and her delightful sense of humor.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Susan’s life was held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 3pm in the Pavilion at Highland Cemetery, 862 Rogers Rd, Iowa Park, Texas.

Condolences may be delivered to The Family of Susan Ralston at 714 W. Rebecca, Iowa Park, Texas, 76367. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susan’s memory to Nocona Lucky Paws Animal Shelter, 653 Airport Road, Nocona, Texas 76255.
