Ralph W. “Fudd” Sherrill
1935 - 2012
Ralph Winford “Fudd” Sherrill, 76, of Frederick, OK., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, in a Wichita Falls hospice facility.
Services were held Saturday at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, 1920 N. 15th, Frederick, with Rev. Johnny Flores, youth minister, officiating.
Burial was held in Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home.
Ralph was born Dec. 4, 1935, to Ralph William and Veldima (Green) Sherrill, in Vinson, OK. He attended schools in Vinson and Carl and attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He married Pauline Martin Nov. 8, 1958, in Wellington. She preceded him in death on May 26, 2003. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a draftsman. He later moved to Childress. He and his wife owned and operated a feed store. He lived in Big Spring briefly before moving to Frederick in 1984. He was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed watching western movies and football, especially the Oklahoma Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Pauline; a son: Winford Sherrill in 1978; a brother: R. L. Sherrill; and a grandson: Keith Hoover in 2001.
He is survived by a son, Terry Sherrill, of Frederick; two daughters, Tammy Hoover of Iowa Park, and Cindy Nelms and Stephen, of Frederick; two brothers, Gerald Sherrill and R. W. “Dubb” Sherrill, both of Vinson, OK; five sisters: Ruth, of California, Joyce Cross, of Littlefield, Melva Thompson, of Anadarko, Patricia West and Earlene Pierce, both of Dallas; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
