Mark “Big Mark” Edwin Pinson, 60, of Wichita Falls, died on Monday, Feb. 20.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Rosemont Cemetery.
Mark was born on Aug. 20, 1956, in Wichita Falls, to Frances Lucille (Sutton) and Vernon Theodore Pinson. He was born and raised in Wichita Falls and attended Iowa Park High School. Initially, he worked with his father at Carnation Creamery. He was a contractor and trim carpenter. He also enjoyed working on machines, engines, bicycles, and cars. One of his projects was reconstructing the 1917 “Curtiss Jenny biplane,” now housed at WWI Call Field Living Museum. He enjoyed spending time with his family, coaching their teams and working as crew chief for his sons at Pinson Motorsports.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Lucille (Sutton) Pinson; his father, Vernon Theodore Pinson; and grandparents, Willie and Mattie Sutton.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Barbara Pinson; two sons Mark Anthony and Brandon Michael; his siblings, John, Judy, and Jerry; and five grandchildren.
