Gerald M. Farmer, 81, of Wichita Falls passed away Sunday, March 1.

Services were held Tuesday at the chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home with Rev. Micky Miller officiating. Interment followed in Crestview Memorial Park.

A son of the late W.H. and Dessie L. (Walker) Farmer, he was born Nov. 17, 1927, in Fort Worth. In 1948, he was baptized at Victory Baptist Church. He and Joan Frost were married May 13, 1949, in Henrietta. He served in the United States Army and later worked for General Mills for 25 years, Sheppard Air Force Base two years, and the Texas Highway Department 25 years.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Verbal; and two grandchildren, Chad E. Nelms, and Michelle Garcia.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Janie Nelms of Wichita Falls, Paula Morrison of Comanche, OK., Lou Ann Farmer of Scotland, and Judy Brown of Holliday; a son, Jimmy of Iowa Park; three sisters, Glen Ella Collier of Wichita Falls, Bernice Stuart and Jo Lynn Stokley, both of Weatherford; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
