Fred John Daume
1923 - 2013

Fred John Daume, 89, of Wichita Falls, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28.

Services were held Monday at First Baptist Church of Holliday with Gil Peters and Rev. Daryl Sewell, officiating. Interment followed at Holliday Cemetery.

Mr. Daume was the son of the late Fred and Lydia (Nitschke) Daume, born Oct. 31, 1923 in Wichita County. From 1942 until 1945, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. On Dec. 12, 1945, he married Willie Jo Minyard in Wichita Falls. She preceded him in death Nov. 6. He was formerly a mayor and council member of Holliday, and a lifetime member of Wichita County Young Farmers.

He is survived by his son, Freddie Lee Daume of Iowa Park; two daughters, Nancy Haynes, and Gail Evans, both of Holliday; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandson.
