Marie Alderson, 94, passed away, Sunday, March 4, in Muskogee, OK.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, in Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Monty Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.

Marie Alderson was born Jan. 9, 1918 in Konawa, OK, to Corbett and Mary (Cooper) Riggs. She married Sherman Baxter Alderson Jan. 29, 1938 in Buckeye, AZ. They moved to Muskogee in 1945. She was a homemaker and baby sitter for the family. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star and D A V Auxiliary , American Legion and VFW.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and all her siblings.
Survivors include her daughter, Marsha Allen of Muskogee, OK; two sons, Eldon “Al” Alderson of Iowa Park, and Corbett Alderson of Muskogee, OK; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers are Charles N. Allen Jr., Terry Allen, Bucky Allen, Jimmy Jones, Logan Allen and Brent Sheen.
