Donald Eugene Bowen, 74, of Pleasant Valley, passed away Tuesday, March 3, in Wichita Falls.
Services were held Friday at First Baptist Church of Iowa Park with Rev. Glen Pearce, officiating.
Interment with military honors were held at Crestview Memorial Park.
Mr. Bowen was born June 2, 1934, in Bay City, MI., to Ernest and Ethel (Osburn) Bowen. He served in the United States Air Force as an electrician and retired in 1972. He and Christel Brand were married Feb. 17, 1956, in Morfeldon, Germany.
After retiring from the Air Force he was a civil service electrical instructor. He previously served as a deacon at Westside Baptist Church where he was baptized 15 years ago. He was also previously active with the Masonic Lodge and VFW Post 2147.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cynthia Roosa in July 2000; two sisters, Erma Jacobs and Edith Ozark; and a brother, Kenny.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years of Pleasant Valley; two daughters, Christine Chitwood of Simpsonville, S.C., and Roney May Stewart of Wichita Falls; a son, Donald E. of Iowa Park; a brother, Fred of Taylor MI.; fourteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family suggest memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
