Bobbie R. Ray

Bobbie R. Ray, age 71, died Saturday, March 7, 2009 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a resident of Iowa Park for 40 years.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ted Spear officiating. Military honors will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.

Bobbie was born July 26, 1937 in Stephenville, Texas. He and Eyvonne Manning were married September 16, 1958 in O’Brien, Texas. He retired from the US Air Force in September 1978. He received the Purple Heart for wounds received while serving in Vietnam. Bobbie was an instructor in the dental department of Science Health School. He also was First Sergeant of the hospital for the last 2 years prior to his retirement. He retired as Master Sergeant. He and Eyvonne owned and operated Victory Dental Lab until selling in 1999. He attended Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park, Texas.

His survivors include his wife of 50 years, Eyvonne of Iowa Park; son, Billy R. Ray and wife, LeAnn of Wichita Falls, Texas; son, Mike Ray of Iowa Park, Texas; two brothers, Ronald Ray and wife, Barbara of Vacaville, California and Rudy Ray and wife, Marsha of Weatherford, Texas.
