Carroll Lee Payne
1930 - 2014

Carroll Lee Payne, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 5, in Wichita Falls.

Graveside Services were held Sunday at Hillcrest Memorial Garden in Leesburg, FL.

There was a visitation for friends and family Friday evening at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.

Carroll was born in Washington, D. C. on Feb. 1, 1930, to Herman Payne and Gladys (Oliver) Payne. He served in the Merchant Marines and Navy Reserve.
Carroll and his wife, Dorothy Pick Payne were married 48 years. She preceded him in death. He worked for Thompson’s Dairy as a milk home delivery man for 19 years then later retired from the U. S. Postal Service after 12 years of service.

Carroll was also preceded in death by his parents; and one grandchild.

Survivors are his wife Pauline Fletcher ‘Cookie’ Payne; sons Steven Payne of Ft. Walton Beach, FL., and David Payne of Panama City Beach, FL; daughters, Susan Price of Flagler, FL., and Patricia Latourneau of Rockville, MD; stepchildren, Mindy Haynes and Chuck Brown, both of Iowa Park; 15 grandchildren, and three great-granddaughters.

In lieu of usual remembrances, the family suggest memorial donations be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 76310 or to Special Olympics, 710 Lamar, Suite 430, Wichita Falls, TX, 76301.
