William Richard “Sonny” Ross
1943 - 2011

William Richard “Sonny” Ross, 67, passed away Tuesday March 15.

A private memorial service was held Saturday at Dutton Funeral Home.

Sonny was born on July 24, 1943, in Ardmore, OK., to Willie Jay and Sadie (Burris) Ross. He and Donna (Carroll) Ross of Wichita Falls were married July 19, 1975. He served in the Marines for 6 years. He loved fishing and was an avid reader and had worked for Bob Bounds Paving for about 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charles and Joe Ross and son Richard Wayne Ross.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Randy Long of Byers, Monty Long of Wichita Falls, Alisha Baker of Iowa Park, and Shannon Long of Beaumont; a sister Dr. Mary Ross of Wichita Falls; a brother Greg Ross of Wichita Falls; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
