Kelly Erle Crush, 51, passed away Sunday, March 25, after nearly four years of battling Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kay Yeager Coliseum with burial following at Crestview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Kelly was born in Dallas, August 29, 1960, to the late Ione Carol Crush and Clem Erle Crush. He had lived in Wichita Falls since 1971, and graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1978. He attended Midwestern State University from 1979 to 1982. He joined the Wichita Falls Fire Department in May, 1988 and was forced to retire in August 2009 due to his battle with ALS. Kelly was named Texas Chairperson for ALS by the Muscular Dystrophy Association in 2009. He spent many hours traveling around the country speaking publically to raise awareness about ALS.
He is survived by two sisters, Annette Crush and Carol Crush, both of Wichita Falls.
