Doris Janet Denton
1929 - 2013

Doris Janet Fowler Denton, 84, died Thursday, March 28, in Hamilton.

Funeral services were held Monday, at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ted Spears, pastor, Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park, officiating.

Doris was born Jan. 13, 1929 in Wink, to Clyde and Nell (McDonald) Fowler. She married Henry Leon Denton, Sr. Dec. 24, 1946, in Leveland. She was a forklift operator for Surgikos Company in Wichita Falls for several years. Doris enjoyed working in her yard, reading and was an avid bowler. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park for many years and moved to Hamilton six months ago, after living in Iowa Park since the early 1950’s. She lived in New Mexico and West Texas prior to moving to Iowa Park.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Thomas Nathan Denton; and three siblings, Billy Joe Fowler, Clyde Allen Fowler and Mary Jewel Cork.

Survivors include two sons, Henry L. Denton, Jr. of Kenosha, WI., and Jimmy C. Denton of Iowa Park; a daughter, Connie J. Denton of Hamilton; seven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.

The suggest memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
