Rev. Vernon Dale Lewis
1928-2008

Vernon Dale Lewis, 79, died Saturday, April 5, 2008 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park with Dr. Ted Spear officiating. Graveside service was Tuesday at the Davidson Cemetery, Davidson, Oklahoma under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home, Iowa Park, Texas.

Vernon was born September 9, 1928 in Davidson, Oklahoma to Lonnie and Parma Lewis. He was a graduate of Davidson High School. He and Amaryllis Riddle Farr were married March 22, 1975 in Iowa Park. He attended OSU and graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a retired farmer, pastor and truck driver for Central Freight Lines. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park and was also a supporter of Faith Mission in Wichita Falls.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie and a brother, Wilbert Lewis.
Survivors include his wife, Amaryllis of Iowa Park; mother, Parma Lewis of Davidson, Oklahoma; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Cyd Lewis, Salt Lake City, Utah; Craig and Denise Lewis of Wichita Falls, Texas; son Lonnie Dale Lewis of Dallas, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Samer Sidhom of Fort Worth, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Jim Cooper of Iowa Park; Lou and L.P. Sanders of Burkburnett, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Jo Farr of Iowa Park and Dan and Kim Farr of Wynnewood, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carolyn Lewis of Davidson, Oklahoma and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, Iowa Park, Texas.
