Edward D. Buck Hanshew
1934 - 2014

Edward D. “Buck” Hanshew, 80, of Wichita Falls, passed away Sunday, April 6.

Buck was born Feb. 24, 1934, in Idabel, OK., to Earl and Faye (Cruce) Hanshew.

He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, retiring in 1975 after 23 years. He and Patricia Mann were married Feb. 24, 1986. He was a lifetime member of the VFW #2147, and the DAV. He enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. An avid OU fan, he also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Faye Cato; his father, Earl “Red” Hanshew; three sons, Andrew Dwain Hanshew, Edward Dwain “Butchie” Hanshew, and Jim Hanshew; and two sisters, Christine Denny, and Laverne Wakefield.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Tina Hanshew Burr of Big Timber, MT.; a son, Robert Liley of New Braunfels; two sisters, Earlene Ainsworth of Iowa Park, and Merle Hlatki of Callahan, CO.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
