Raymond Chesley "Ray" Lunsford
1931 - 2009

Raymond “Ray” Chesley Lunsford, 77, passed away Sunday, April 12, in Nocona.

Mr. Lunsford was born Aug. 13, 1931. He worked in the electric supply business as a salesman and in management. He was a member of the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and had lived in Iowa Park from 1962 to 1995.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamen Franklin Lunsford and Daisey Lucille Kinney Ayer; a sister, Zelda Lucille Lunsford; and two brothers, Franklin “Wayne” and Leland “Loyd.”

Survivors include his wife, Melba Joyce Shelton; three sons, Franklin Ray of Lewisville, James Michael of Iowa Park, and Jerry Carson of Nocona; three daughters, Valerie Ann Schenewerk of Lewisville, and Marian Joyce Lunsford and Donna Lucille Turney, both of Iowa Park; a brother, Billy Lee of West Burlington, IA.; a half brother, George Benny Ayer of Atwood, IL; a sister, Betty Gertrude Crutchfield of Lovington, IL.; a half-sister, Joanna Sue Snow of Corydon, IA.; six grandchidlren; and two great-grandchidlren.
