Martha Jean (Phillips) Cole
Martha Jean (Phillips) Cole, 85 of Wichita Falls passed away Friday, April 11, in Johnson City.

Services were held Tuesday at Hampton Vaughan Chapel with pastor-teacher of Shield of Faith Bible Church, Jerry Shawn, officiating. Interment was held in Holliday Cemetery.

Mrs. Cole was born August 3, 1922, to William Andrew and Lula Mae (Black) Phillips, in Saint Jo. During a revival held by evangelist Elmer Taylor at Calvary Baptist Church of Wichita Falls, in 1944 she accepted Jesus Christ. She worked as a technician at TSO for many years, as well as a checker at K-Mart, and for both Wichita Falls and Holliday school systems. She was an active member of each church she was a member of during her lifetime, including First Baptist Church of Johnson City.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, James O. “Bob” Cole in 1995; and great-granddaughter, Keri Leigh Kyle Fielder.

Survivors include three daughters, Janie Propest Brumley of Wichita Falls, Priscilla Propest Anderson of Iowa Park, Barbara Cole Taylor of Johnson City, two sisters, Grace Shawn of Jolly, and Mamie Gray of Turkey; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggest memorials be made to a hospice of your choice.
