Jerry Kimes “Jed” Simmons
1940 - 2013

Jerry Kimes “Jed” Simmons, 72, passed away Monday, April 22, in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home. Graveside Services will follow at Highland Cemetery Pavilion.

Jed was born Sept. 11, 1940, in Wichita Falls to Curtis P. and Rosanna (Hendricks) Simmons. He married Maggie Dale Kenyon on Nov. 13, 1963 in Henrietta. She passed away on July 22, 2011. He was a veteran, serving in the US Army. Jed worked for 16 years as a horse jockey and has worked for 49 years as a truck driver. He married Lois Money on March 16, 2012 in Pleasant Valley.

Jed is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maggie Simmons; one son, Kenneth Simmons; two brothers, Pete and Dean Simmons; and his sister, Sue Lee.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Bolding-Simmons of Wichita Falls; three daughters, Pamela Bell and Janice Mowery, both of Iowa Park and Tiffany C. Blankenship of Anchorage, Alaska; three sons, Keith Simmons of Iowa Park, Michael “Ed” Blankenship of Seattle, WA., and Zach D. Bolding of Wichita Falls; a brother, Freddie Simmons of Iowa Park; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Dutton Funeral Home.
