Al “Lyndal” Preston
1939 - 2011
Al Lyndal Preston, 72, passed away Friday, April 22, at Hospice of Wichita Falls.
Services were held Wednesday at Lunn’s Colonial Chapel with Rod Payne Media Minister of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment with military honors was held in Rosemont Cemetery.
Al was born March 20, 1939, in Iowa Park. He served in the United State Marine Corp as a MP. He then transferred to the Army and served 22 years earning many medals and decorations. He met his wife of 46 years, Jocelyn Boitrel, in France. She preceded him in death. He also graduated Vernon Regional College with an Associate in Applied Science and General Business Degree. After retiring from the military he returned to Wichita Falls and worked for the postal service until his retirement.
He was also preceded in death by his mother and father, Lennie Davis and Samuel Preston; and siblings, Edna Preston, Sammy Gene Preston, Zell Callahan, Nell Dyer, Ed Preston, Donald Preston, Mary “Lois” Gunter, Lee Roy Walton, Elmer Walton, and Billy Gene Walton.
Survivors include two sons, Ron and David; his sister, Eula Faye Fulfer; a brother Bob; and three grandchildren.
