Donald Clifton Heflin
1947 - 2016

Donald (Don) Clifton Heflin, 68, of Holliday, died Thursday, April 28.

Funeral services were held Monday in the chapel of Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home. Interment followed at Restland Cemetery in Olney.

A son of the late, Donalene (Butler) and Clifton Henry Heflin, Jr., Don was born Dec. 14, 1947, in Tulsa, OK. He graduated from Petrolia High School in 1966. He worked for the Naval Space Surveillance Station and retired after 27 years. He served as a fire fighter and first responder for the Lake Kickapoo VFD. He was past president of the FOE 3580 and FIE 4128, and a member of the IBEW for 25 years. He was previous Red River Chili Cook off Winner, Burkburnett Boom Town CCO Winner and Eagles CCO Winner. He enjoyed drinking coffee, being outdoors, camping, fishing, competing in chili cook-offs and hunting.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded by his wife of 27 years, Donna Vickers Heflin.

Survivors include his wife of seven years, Cheryl Hutchinson Heflin of Lake Kickapoo, three sons, Gerald Heflin and Brad Heflin, both of Dean and Monte McCarty of Wichita Falls; one daughter, Christie Ragsdale of Iowa Park; three stepdaughters; Amanda Peysen, and Carrie Canedo, both of Wichita Falls and Kelly Campbell of Springtown; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

For those desiring, the family suggest memorial contributions be sent to the Lake Kickapoo Fire Department.
