Roger C. Chapman
Roger C. Chapman, 80, of St. Augustine, FL. died Tuesday, April 28, at Flagler Hospital.
Memorial services honoring the life of Mr. Chapman will be conducted in the Memorial Lutheran Church in St. Augustine at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, with Pastor Kerry Hinkley officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Clayton Frank & Biggs Funeral Home, Crescent City.
Born in Green Cove Springs, FL., Mr. Chapman retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 22 years and having been stationed in many different places, the last being aboard Air Force One in Washington D.C. After retirement, Mr. Chapman moved to Iowa Park so his son could attend Iowa Park High School. In 1976, he moved to Green Cove Springs, FL. where he then went to work for the Clay County School System in maintenance. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge in Clay County and was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church in St. Augustine.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsa Chapman.
Survivors include a son, John of St. Augustine, FL.; a daughter, Peggy Starr of Iowa Park; five sisters, Gayle Wright of Georgetown, FL., Jean Masters of Elkton, FL., Connie Chapman of Jacksonville, FL., Marie Mohundro of Orange Park, FL. and Rodie Higginbotham of Sapelo Island, GA.; and a brother Virgil Chapman of Middleburg, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rotary Club of Crescent City, P. O. Box 486, Crescent City, FL 32112.
