Bobbie Heacox
IOWA PARK -- Bobbie Heacox, 80, flew into glory on Saturday, May 5, 2012, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Iowa Park with Rev. Glen Pearce, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.
Bobbie was born September 17, 1931, in Washington, PA, to Russell and Philena Carter. She graduated from cosmetology school and worked for a brief period as a hairdresser. She met and married the love of her life, Charlie, in 1950 in St. Louis.
She spent the next 26 years traveling the world and supporting him in his military career. They enjoyed 62 wonderful years together. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Iowa Park and a member of the Friendship Class. Bobbie and Charlie enjoyed going on mission trips building churches with the “Builders for Christ”.
Bobbie retired from the Iowa Park school district as a cafeteria manager at Bradford Elementary in 1991. She enjoyed crocheting for friends and making afghans for all the grandkids.
Her parents, brothers, Elmer and Albert, sister, Catherine, and twin children, Danny and Diane, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie, daughter, Barbara and husband, Jim Price, and son, Charles Heacox and wife, Nancy; granddaughter, Jana Price, grandsons, Jeff Price and wife, Kathleen, Charles Heacox and wife, Crystal, and Steven Heacox; great grandchildren, Haley, Zane, Nevaeh, Kaydence and Charles Riley, and several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church of Iowa Park, Texas.
Visitation was held from 6 until 7 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel.
