Mildred “Jean” Dudley
1928 - 2016
Mildred “Jean” Dudley, 87, passed away Wednesday, May 11.
The family received friends at a Prayer Vigil at “The Hicks” home on Sunday.
Jean was born Nov. 16, 1928, in Briggs, to Sydney and Essie Ervin. She moved to Wichita Falls in 1959 and went to work for the Pioneer Restaurants for at least 18 years. She moved to Austin and worked for Breckenridge Hospital for 10 years and moved back to Wichita Falls and worked for Bethania Hospital until she retired in 1993. She started quilting late in life and made quilts for all of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lester Ervin and Otis Ervin; one sister, Dorothy Lively.
Survivors include a son, Don Dudley; two daughters, Jody Dudley and Diane Hicks; seven grandchildren: seven great-grandchildren: and three great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
