Jay Paul Hathaway
1964 - 2015

Jay Paul Hathaway, 50, passed away Thursday, May 21, after a lengthy battle with ALS.

Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls Tuesday, under the direction of Lunn’s Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at North Church in Oklahoma City at 2 p.m. Friday.

Jay was born in Wichita Falls, July 5, 1964. He attended schools in City View and is a graduate of Iowa Park High School, Colorado Christian University, Southwestern Seminary, and Devry Institute. He was a Licensed Professional Counselor and spent many years doing Biblical Counseling for churches, organizations, free ministries and inpatient treatment centers, and had been an associate pastor. In his early career he owned a mail marketing business in Wichita Falls with his father.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Paul “Jack” Hathaway; brothers Dion and Joe Nelms; sister Paula Ford, and grandparents Hulen and Ann Chandler and Elmer and Pearl Hathaway.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Cindy Turnbo Hathaway of Edmond, OK.; two daughters Sydney and Leah of Edmond; his mother, Joy Hathaway; a sister, Lynne Gibson; and a brother, Lloyd Nelms.
