Mildred M.S. Parkey
1915 - 2009

Mildred Marie Stogsdill Parkey, 93, died Sunday, June 7, in Iowa Park.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park with Alvis Edmonds of Arlington officiating. Burial will be held in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Parkey was born in Duncan, OK. June 10, 1915 to James Robert and Maria (Funk) Stogsdill. She graduated Oklahoma College for Women obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park.

She enjoyed baking cookies, playing the piano and genealogy. She married Fred Parkey Sept. 29, 1939 in Chickasha, OK. He preceded her in death October 10, 1990.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Survivors include four sons, Paul of Wichita Falls, David of Iowa Park, Gordon of Burkburnett, and Allan of Lagos, Nigeria; two daughters, Ann Johnson of Iowa Park, and Martha Tregre of Fort Worth; 21 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
