Mildred Bowles Keeter
Mildred Bowles Keeter, 92, died Friday, June 8.
Services were held Tuesday at First United Methodist Church. Burial was held in Randlett Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Keeter was born May 14, 1915, to Ben and Lizzle Bowles, a farming family in the Cookie Town Community in Cotton County. She attended Union Valley School and played basketball in high school. She and S.B. Keeter were married May 26, 1935, in Temple, OK. He preceded her in death after 70 years of marriage. She was a longtime resident of Iowa Park and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Iowa Park, over 50 years. She taught the Come Double Sunday School Class and was an active member of the First United Methodist Women.
She was also preceded in death by, a son, Dr. Joe Stephen Keeter.
Survivors include, a daughter, Dr. Karen Keeter Rogers of Wichita Falls; two sons, Dr. Keith Keeter of Frederick, OK., and Phillip Keeter of Longview; a brother, Wesley Bowles of Temple, OK.; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
