David T. Smith
1924 - 2008
David Troy Smith, 84, passed away Wednesday, June 18, in Wichita Falls. Graveside services were held Saturday, June 21, in Hope Cemetery, Henrietta, with Rev. Rickey Rasco of First Assembly of God in Iowa Park officiating.

Mr. Smith was born February 15, 1924, in Helton County, OK., the son of A.C. “Haskell” Smith and Effie (Farrar) Smith. He and Stella Mae McDuffie were married in July 1951, in Sacramento, CA. He was a truck driver for Groendyke Transport for 38 and a half years, retiring in 1989. He received the Texas Driver of the Year Award in 1986 for 3 1/2 million accident free miles driven in 35 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three sisters, Ethel, Naoma, and Lucille; and his twin brother, John Roy.

Survivors include a son, Rocky of Iowa Park; a daughter, Pat McCoy of Lewisville; and two grandchildren.
