Sam Kurtz, 78, of Rogers, AR. passed away Friday, June 21, in Wichita Falls.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Crestview Memorial Park, in the Garden of Cross, with Chaplain Gwen Morman, officiating.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bland Chapel, 8531 Twin Coves Road in Rogers, AR., officiated by David Mack.
Sam was born June 25, 1934, in Lykins, Ohio, to John and Marie (Caskey) Kurtz.
He served in the United States Army for three years. He and Beverlee June Myers Hartman were married Sept. 10, 1977, in Broken Sword, Ohio. He worked at Timken Bearing Company in Ohio for 30 years, and was a farmer. He was on the Grand Council of the Royal and Select Masons of Ohio, a member of Eastern Star, and the Shriners. He lived in Ohio until 1979, when he and his wife moved to Texas. In 1994 they moved to Rogers, AR. He enjoyed fishing and his pistol target shooting clubs. He was an active member of the Rocky Branch Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of Bland Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers, AR.
He was preceded in death by his wife; and his parents.
Survivors include three children, Renee Woolley of Sandusky, Ohio, Richard Hartman of Burkburnett, and Randel Hartman of Iowa Park; a sister, Marilyn Shumaker of Bucyrus, Ohio; a brother, Ronald Kurtz of Bloomville, OH.; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
